The Project of the Genomic Diversity in Mexican Population, started in June2005 with the main objetive of identify common genetic variations in the mestizo population and compare different regions of Mexico, and the comparison of this variation with the results of the HapMap.

The results of this first phase.was delivered on May 11 2009 through the publication of the scientific article “Analysis of genomic diversity in Mexican Mestizo populations to develop genomic medicine in Mexico”, which appears in the magazine Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
